Dr. Richardson completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, receiving the CIBA-Geneva Award for outstanding community service in 1998. Dr. Richardson then completed her residency in general surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Richardson is board certified and is a member of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Richardson presently serves on the Genetics Steering committee, the Cancer Protocols committee and the Community Outreach committee here at Piedmont Hospital and actively participates in the training of Emory residents in special breast procedures.

Dr. Richardson also received a Minor degree in Fine Arts, enjoys choral singing, drawing, and printmaking. You will see a sample of her fine artistic ability when you visit our office. She has been married to her husband, Dominic, for ten years, and looks forward to quality time with her dogs, Carson and Georgia and her cats.
